This stunning Georgian house design was a delight to be apart of. With its large proportions including high ceilings and large windows and all the traditional character, this house is a beautiful example of Georgian grandeur.
Our brief was to give key rooms a more simplistic, contemporary feel without disputing the integrity of the architecture. This ensured a timeless, classic style throughout.
At Amy Nicholas we worked with classic brands such as Zoffany and Mulberry Home for the soft furnishings, Jacaranda Pure Wool Velvet carpets and mixed modern accessories with the clients existing antiques and art works. For the master en -suite bathroom, we chose renowned designer Philippe Starck for the bathroom suite and fittings to create a modern bathroom space with clean lines which actually emphasised the traditional architecture and Georgian proportions.
This magnificent Georgian house design is known for being an architectural gem in its located area with extensive landscaped gardens and woodland so it was paramount that we took into account its heritage when we tackled the design challenges posed. The renovated garden room looking out onto the manicured lawns, was originally the potting shed but the work undertaken has kept all the original features so that the new space is totally in keeping with the rest of the property.
